Jointly organized by the University of Wisconsin and Tohoku University, this workshop brings together established experts and early‑career researchers to provide a forum for discussion of the latest experimental and theoretical studies in nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics.
The scientific program will be devoted to the newest research in nuclear physics and astrophysics, with topics including:
- Photonuclear Reactions
- Gamma Spectroscopy
- Fusion Below the Barrier
- Giant Resonances and Nuclear Structure
- Exotic Nuclei
- Short-Range Correlations
- Latest Developments in the Nuclear Shell Model
- Nuclear Astrophysics – CERN ISOLDE Experiments
The program will consist primarily of invited talks. To encourage participation from young researchers, we also welcome short seminar presentations during the meeting.

Excursion
Excursion Destinations: Anıtkabir, Museum of Anatolian Civilizations & Hamamönü
Anıtkabir
Anıtkabir is the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey, situated on Rasattepe overlooking Ankara. Completed in 1953, its monumental design combines modern and classical elements, and the site includes the Hall of Honor, the Peace Park (featuring trees from around the world), and the Atatürk and War of Independence Museum, which houses Atatürk’s personal belongings and the official records of the early republic.
Museum of Anatolian Civilizations
Housed in a beautifully restored 16th-century Ottoman bazaar near Ankara Castle, the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations presents artifacts spanning Anatolia’s human history—from Paleolithic stone tools through Hittite reliefs to Roman and Ottoman treasures. Its two main halls showcase archaeological finds organized by era, while the courtyard displays sarcophagi, steles, and monumental sculptures in an open-air setting.
Hamamönü
Hamamönü is a historic quarter north of Ulus Square, where Ottoman-era houses, restored hamams, and workshops line cobblestone streets. Today it is a vibrant cultural district with artisan studios, cafés, and galleries. Visitors can wander through narrow lanes, admire traditional wood-frame architecture, sample local handicrafts, and enjoy tea in a 19th-century bathhouse turned café.
